Big Ben
Thames tower timepiece
Big Ben is the name commonly used for the clock tower at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, though strictly speaking it refers to the main bell inside.
The tower itself was renamed Elizabeth Tower in 2012.
Big Ben has become an iconic symbol of London and British government, appearing in countless establishing shots of the city: We could hear Big Ben chiming midnight.
