embassies
Ambassadors' official headquarters
Embassies is the plural of embassy—the official headquarters of an ambassador in a foreign country, or the diplomatic staff working there.
Embassies handle relations between governments, issue visas, and assist citizens abroad.
The embassies were evacuated when fighting broke out.
By extension, any formal delegation sent to negotiate may be called an embassy.
