Genoa

Italy's largest port

Genoa is a port city in northwestern Italy, historically one of the great maritime republics.

It was the birthplace of Christopher Columbus and remains Italy's busiest port.

Genoa lends its name to various things including genoa salami and the genoa sail. (Lowercase genoa is a type of sail.)
