Mexican
South of border
Mexican describes people, things, or culture from Mexico, the country south of the United States.
As a noun, a Mexican is a person from Mexico or of Mexican descent: My grandfather was Mexican.
The word is neutral and appropriate, though in some American contexts it has been used dismissively or as a slur against any Latino person regardless of actual nationality.
Mexican food, Mexican Spanish, and Mexican culture all refer specifically to Mexico.
