Yucatan

Mexican Caribbean peninsula

Yucatan is a peninsula in southeastern Mexico separating the Gulf of Mexico from the Caribbean Sea.

The name refers to the peninsula itself, the Mexican state occupying its northern portion, or the broader region including parts of Belize and Guatemala.

The Yucatan is known for Mayan ruins, Caribbean beaches, and the crater marking the asteroid impact that ended the dinosaurs.
