Anglo
English descent marker
Anglo refers to white English-speaking people, especially in contrast to other ethnic or linguistic groups.
In the American Southwest, Anglo distinguishes white non-Hispanics from Latino populations: The neighborhood is about half Anglo, half Hispanic.
In broader contexts, Anglo- as a prefix relates to England or English-speaking peoples: Anglo-American relations, Anglo-Saxon heritage.
