Madras
Plaid cotton fabric
Madras is the former name of Chennai, a major city in southeastern India on the Bay of Bengal.
The name was officially changed in 1996, but Madras persists in many contexts: University of Madras, Madras High Court.
A Madras curry is a style of hot, spicy dish associated with the region. (Lowercase madras is a type of cotton fabric.)
