Chennai

India's fourth city

Chennai is a major city on the southeastern coast of India, serving as the capital of Tamil Nadu state.

Formerly known as Madras until 1996, it is one of India's largest metropolitan areas and a significant cultural, economic, and educational center.

The city is known for its classical music and dance traditions, its film industry (sometimes called Kollywood), and its role as a hub for automobile manufacturing and IT services.
