Latin Americans
Caribbean and southern neighbors
Latin Americans are people from Latin America—the regions of the Americas where Romance languages (primarily Spanish and Portuguese) predominate, spanning Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.
The term encompasses tremendous cultural, racial, and national diversity: Latin Americans have shaped music, literature, and cuisine worldwide.
In the United States, Latin American often overlaps with Latino and Hispanic, though these terms have distinct nuances.
