Canadians

Northern border neighbors

Canadians are people from Canada or of Canadian nationality.

The term covers both citizens and cultural identity: Canadians are known for being polite.

In American usage, Canadians sometimes appears as a coded slur for Black people, allowing speakers to express racism with plausible deniability—a usage that emerged in the early 2000s. (Lowercase canadian refers to a type of canoe.)
