Ecuador

Andean Pacific republic

Ecuador is a country on the northwestern coast of South America, straddling the equator—from which it takes its name.

It includes the Galápagos Islands, famous for their role in Darwin's theory of evolution.

The capital is Quito; the largest city is Guayaquil.

We spent two weeks traveling through Ecuador.
