Lambda

Lambda is the eleventh letter of the Greek alphabet (Λ, λ).

In physics, lambda represents wavelength.

In mathematics and computer science, lambda denotes anonymous functions—functions defined without a name: Python's lambda expressions are useful for short operations.

Lambda calculus is a formal system foundational to functional programming.

In gay culture, the lowercase lambda became a symbol of LGBTQ rights in the 1970s.
