Kandinsky

Bauhaus painting instructor

Kandinsky refers to Wassily Kandinsky (1866–1944), a Russian-born painter and art theorist widely credited as a pioneer of abstract art.

His work moved from representational to purely non-objective compositions of color and form.

The name often appears in discussions of modern art history: The museum has three Kandinskys in their permanent collection.
