Danes

Northern European people

Danes are people from Denmark, or their ancestors.

The word also refers to the medieval Scandinavian raiders and settlers who invaded Britain and other parts of Europe—the Vikings of Danish origin: The Danes established the Danelaw in eastern England.

Great Dane is a breed of very large dog, though the breed's connection to Denmark is unclear.
