Huygens

Pendulum clock inventor

Huygens refers to Christiaan Huygens (1629–1695), a Dutch mathematician, physicist, and astronomer who made foundational contributions to optics, mechanics, and timekeeping.

He proposed the wave theory of light, discovered Saturn's moon Titan, and invented the pendulum clock.

The name appears in scientific contexts: the Huygens principle describes wave propagation, and the Huygens probe landed on Titan in 2005.
