English law
Common law system
English law is the legal system of England and Wales, distinguished from Scottish law and other systems within the United Kingdom.
It forms the basis of common law—law developed through court decisions rather than statutes alone—which spread through British colonialism to become the foundation of legal systems in the United States, Canada, Australia, and other former colonies.
The contract was governed by English law.
