Inns of Court

Legal training societies

The Inns of Court are four legal societies in London that have the exclusive right to call candidates to the English bar—that is, to admit them as barristers.

Lincoln's Inn, Gray's Inn, Inner Temple, and Middle Temple date to medieval times and continue to provide professional training, dining halls, libraries, and chambers for barristers.

The term also refers to the physical complexes these societies occupy.
