British people
Residents of England
British people are the citizens or natives of the United Kingdom, encompassing those from England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland.
The term carries both legal and cultural dimensions—someone may hold British citizenship while identifying more specifically as English, Scottish, Welsh, or Irish.
Informally, British people are often called Brits.
The British people voted to leave the European Union in 2016.
