Hebrides

Islands off Scotland

The Hebrides are an archipelago off the northwest coast of Scotland, divided into the Inner Hebrides (closer to the mainland) and the Outer Hebrides (also called the Western Isles).

The islands are known for rugged landscapes, Gaelic culture, and sparse population: We spent a week touring the Hebrides.

Also called the Western Isles.
