mainlanders

Non-islanders by residence

Mainlanders are people who live on or come from a mainland—the principal landmass of a country or region, as opposed to its islands.

The term carries different weight depending on context: Hawaiians distinguish themselves from mainlanders (continental Americans), Hong Kongers from mainlanders (people from the People's Republic of China), and Taiwanese from mainlanders (those who fled from China after 1949).
