British Mandate
League-authorized territory control
British Mandate refers to territories administered by Britain under authority from the League of Nations after World War I, most notably Palestine (1920–1948), Iraq, and Transjordan.
The term appears frequently in discussions of Middle Eastern history and the origins of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: During the British Mandate, Jewish immigration to Palestine increased dramatically.
