Ghana
Togo's western neighbor
Ghana is a country on the coast of West Africa, bordered by Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso, and Togo.
Formerly the British colony Gold Coast, it became in 1957 the first sub-Saharan African nation to gain independence from colonial rule.
The name comes from an ancient West African empire, though that empire was located farther north.
