antinode
Wave's amplitude point
An antinode is a point of maximum displacement in a standing wave, where the medium oscillates most intensely.
It contrasts with a node, where displacement is zero.
In a vibrating guitar string, antinodes occur at the peaks of motion between the fixed ends: The harmonic frequencies depend on how many antinodes form along the string.
