vatting
Combining in tanks
Vatting is the process of blending or mixing in a vat—a large tank or vessel.
The term appears most often in whisky production, where vatting combines spirits from different casks or distilleries: The vatting of single malts creates a blended malt.
Vatted whisky indicates a blend rather than a single-cask product.
