bourbon

Kentucky corn spirit

Bourbon is American whiskey distilled primarily from corn and aged in charred oak barrels.

The name comes from Bourbon County, Kentucky, though bourbon can legally be made anywhere in the United States.

It has a distinctive sweet, caramel-like flavor: He ordered bourbon neat, a bourbon and Coke. (Capitalized Bourbon refers to the European royal dynasty.)
