tyrannosaurs

Cretaceous apex predators

Tyrannosaurs are a group of large carnivorous dinosaurs that walked on two legs, characterized by massive skulls, powerful jaws, and disproportionately small forelimbs.

The most famous is Tyrannosaurus rex, often shortened to T. rex.

The name comes from Greek words meaning "tyrant lizard," fitting for apex predators that dominated the late Cretaceous period.
