theropod

Two-legged predatory dinosaur

A theropod is a member of a group of dinosaurs that walked on two legs and included most of the large carnivores—Tyrannosaurus rex, Velociraptor, and their kin.

Birds evolved from small feathered theropods and are technically theropods themselves, making the group not entirely extinct.

The name means "beast foot."
