Tyrannosauridae

Cretaceous apex predators

Tyrannosauridae is a family of large carnivorous dinosaurs that lived during the late Cretaceous period, characterized by massive skulls, powerful jaws, and disproportionately small forelimbs.

The family includes Tyrannosaurus rex, the most famous member and among the largest land predators ever to exist.

Paleontologists discovered a new tyrannosaurid species in Montana.
