titanosaurs

Massive long-necked dinosaurs

Titanosaurs were enormous herbivorous dinosaurs that lived during the Cretaceous period, the last major group of long-necked sauropods before the mass extinction.

They included some of the largest land animals ever to exist—Argentinosaurus may have weighed over 70 tons.

Despite their name (meaning "titan lizards"), not all species were giants; some were relatively small for sauropods.

Fossils have been found on every continent including Antarctica.
