Velociraptor

Feathered Cretaceous predator

Velociraptor is a genus of small, feathered dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, about 75 million years ago.

Despite its portrayal in popular media as human-sized, the actual animal was roughly the size of a turkey.

The name means "swift thief," reflecting its presumed speed and predatory nature.

The velociraptor fossil showed evidence of feathers.
