transitivity

If-then chain property

Transitivity is the property of passing through or transferring.

In grammar, a transitive verb takes a direct object—the action passes to something: She kicked the ball.

In logic and math, a transitive relation means if A relates to B and B relates to C, then A relates to C: if 3 < 5 and 5 < 7, then 3 < 7.
