reflexivity
Thought examining itself
Reflexivity is the quality of turning back on itself.
In grammar, a reflexive verb or pronoun refers back to the subject: She hurt herself.
In philosophy and social science, reflexivity describes how thinking about something changes the thing being thought about—an observer affecting what they observe, or a theory reshaping the reality it describes.
Markets exhibit reflexivity when investor beliefs influence prices, which then influence beliefs.
The adjective is reflexive.
