tracers
Bullets that glow
Tracers are bullets or shells containing a pyrotechnic charge that burns during flight, leaving a visible trail to show the path of fire: Every fifth round was a tracer.
The term extends to any substance used to track movement or flow—radioactive tracers in medical imaging follow blood through the body, dye tracers reveal underground water paths.
In graphic design, tracing software converts images to vectors.
