bullets

What guns fire

Bullets are projectiles fired from guns, typically small metal cylinders with pointed tips.

The word extends to any small, filled circle used as a typographical marker to set off items in a list: The memo had three bullet points.

To bite the bullet is to endure something painful or difficult.

To dodge a bullet is to narrowly avoid disaster.
