thrones
Seats of power
Thrones is the plural of throne—a ceremonial chair for a monarch or deity, and by extension, royal power itself: The prince was next in line for the throne.
In Christian angelology, Thrones are an order of angels.
Informally, the throne is a toilet: He sat on the porcelain throne reading the newspaper.
