enthronement

Monarch's formal installation

Enthronement is the ceremony or act of placing a monarch, religious leader, or other dignitary on a throne, formally investing them with authority.

The word extends to any installation in a position of power or honor: the enthronement of a new archbishop, his enthronement as CEO.

Figuratively, it describes elevating something to supreme status: the enthronement of profit above all other values.
