subatomic particles
Matter's tiniest components
Subatomic particles are the components smaller than atoms—protons, neutrons, and electrons, along with the more exotic particles that make up or interact with them: quarks, leptons, bosons, and others.
Physics divides them into fermions (matter particles) and bosons (force carriers).
The Large Hadron Collider detects subatomic particles created in high-energy collisions.
