orthotics
Corrective shoe inserts
Orthotics is the branch of medicine concerned with designing and fitting supportive devices for the musculoskeletal system—braces, splints, and insoles that correct or compensate for skeletal problems.
The term also refers to the devices themselves, particularly custom shoe inserts: My podiatrist recommended orthotics for my flat feet.
A practitioner is an orthotist.
