spellmaking
Composing magical formulas
Spellmaking is the craft of creating magical spells—formulating the words, gestures, ingredients, or rituals believed to produce supernatural effects.
The term appears most often in fantasy fiction and games, where characters learn or practice spellmaking as a skill: She spent years studying spellmaking before attempting her first enchantment.
It can also describe the composition of incantations in folklore or occult traditions.
