dissolution
End of something
Dissolution is the act or process of dissolving, breaking up, or bringing to an end.
It applies to both physical and institutional contexts: a solid may undergo dissolution when it disperses into a liquid, while a marriage, partnership, or parliament may face dissolution when formally terminated.
The dissolution of the Soviet Union transformed global politics.
The word often carries a sense of finality or decay, and in older usage could suggest moral corruption or a dissolute lifestyle.
