skip rope

Rhythmic jumping game

Skip rope is the activity of jumping over a rope swung beneath your feet and over your head, either by yourself or with others turning the rope for you: The kids skip rope at recess.

The term also works as a noun for the rope itself, though jump rope is more common in American English for both the activity and the equipment.
