mouth guard
Boxer's teeth shield
A mouth guard is a protective device worn over the teeth, typically during sports or sleep.
Athletes wear them to prevent dental injuries from impact: The boxer inserted his mouth guard before the match.
Night guards protect teeth from grinding during sleep.
Mouth guards may be generic, boil-and-bite, or custom-fitted by a dentist.
