slalom skiing
Downhill through gates
Slalom skiing is a form of alpine skiing in which the skier navigates a downhill course by weaving through a series of gates—pairs of poles marking turns.
The gates force rapid, precise direction changes, testing agility and technique rather than pure speed.
Giant slalom uses wider spacing and longer turns; super giant slalom is faster still.
