skidmarks
Rubber on asphalt
Skidmarks are the dark rubber streaks left on pavement when tires lose traction—from sudden braking, burnouts, or crashes.
Investigators use skidmarks to reconstruct accidents.
The term also refers, often humorously, to fecal stains left in underwear: He left skidmarks in his boxers.
Both senses share the image of something dragged across a surface.
