silks
Jockey's colorful uniform
Silks are garments made from silk fabric, especially the distinctive colored shirts and caps worn by jockeys in horse racing: The jockeys paraded in their silks before the race.
Each owner registers unique colors and patterns, making their horses identifiable from a distance.
By extension, silks can refer to any fine silk clothing or, in British legal usage, the robes worn by senior barristers who have "taken silk" to become Queen's or King's Counsel.
