daily double
Two-race bet
A daily double is a bet requiring you to pick the winners of two designated races, with both selections needing to win for the bet to pay off.
The term comes from horse racing but applies to other sports betting.
In the game show *Jeopardy!*, a Daily Double is a clue that lets a contestant wager any portion of their score: I found the Daily Double in the first round.
