sauropod

Giant herbivorous dinosaur

Sauropods were enormous herbivorous dinosaurs with distinctive body plans: long necks, small heads, massive bodies, and long tails.

The group includes the largest land animals ever to exist—Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus, Apatosaurus (once called Brontosaurus).

The sauropod's neck allowed it to reach vegetation other dinosaurs couldn't access.
