Pangaea

Ancient unified continent

Pangaea is the name given to the supercontinent that existed roughly 300 million years ago, when all of Earth's landmasses were joined as a single body.

The continents later drifted apart to their current positions.

The term occasionally appears figuratively for any unified whole that later fragments: Before the breakup, the company was a Pangaea of media properties.
