Argentinosaurus

Massive South American dinosaur

Argentinosaurus is a genus of enormous dinosaur that lived in what is now Argentina during the Late Cretaceous period, roughly 95 million years ago.

It ranks among the largest land animals ever discovered, with estimates suggesting it reached lengths of over 100 feet and weighed as much as 70 tons.

Like other titanosaurs, it was a long-necked herbivore that walked on four pillar-like legs.

Only fragmentary fossils have been found, so size estimates remain somewhat speculative.
