runner's knee
Kneecap tracking pain
Runner's knee is pain around the kneecap, typically caused by overuse during activities like running, cycling, or climbing stairs.
The term covers several conditions where the kneecap doesn't track properly against the thighbone.
Despite the name, it affects non-runners too—anyone who repeatedly bends their knees under stress: I had to skip the marathon because of runner's knee.
